Apply a thin layer to clean, dry skin each morning after applying your Obagi treatment products, or as directed by your clinician.
Allow the lotion to absorb fully before continuing with the rest of your skincare routine. As this product contains an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), apply a broad spectrum SPF every morning and limit unnecessary sun exposure while using it.
Exfoliation should leave your skin looking healthier, not irritated. Daily chemical exfoliation with a gentle product like Exfoderm® is often more effective than using abrasive facial scrubs once or twice a week. If you're new to exfoliating acids or your skin is sensitive, your clinician may recommend introducing the product gradually before building up to daily use.

Exfoderm® is formulated with phytic acid and is recommended for normal to dry skin. Exfoderm® Forte contains stronger AHAs, including glycolic and lactic acid, making it better suited to normal, combination and oily skin.
Yes. It's designed for daily morning use as part of the Obagi Nu-Derm® System, unless your clinician advises otherwise.
Some people notice mild flaking when introducing exfoliating products, particularly if they're also using other active ingredients. This usually settles as the skin adjusts.
