Bespoke Laser Combinations
With several different laser and light technologies available, it can be difficult to know which treatment is right for your skin. You may be concerned about pigmentation, redness, texture or lines, but that does not mean you need to choose a specific device before coming to see us.
At Dr Ed Robinson Clinics, we take a concern-led approach to laser treatment. Your skin is assessed first, allowing us to decide which technology, or combination of technologies, is most appropriate for what we can see.
Our Sciton laser and light treatments can be used individually or combined within a bespoke treatment plan. This allows us to address different concerns, depths and areas of the skin rather than expecting one device to do everything.

Benefits of Bespoke Laser Combinations
-
TREATMENT BASED ON YOUR SKIN
You do not need to decide which laser you need. We assess your skin and recommend the technology or combination most appropriate for your concerns. -
TARGETS MULTIPLE CONCERNS
Different technologies can address pigmentation, redness, visible vessels, texture, pores, lines, scarring and changes in overall skin quality. -
DIFFERENT TECHNOLOGIES, DIFFERENT ROLES
One technology may be more appropriate for unwanted colour, while another may be selected for texture, resurfacing or a specific vascular concern. -
PERSONALISED TREATMENT INTENSITY
Treatment can be adapted according to the degree of correction required, your skin characteristics and how much recovery time is appropriate for you. -
COMBINATION TREATMENT WHERE APPROPRIATE
Some patients need only one technology. Others may benefit from combining treatments when several different concerns are present.

What concerns can bespoke laser combinations treat?
Pigmentation and Sun Damage
Brown spots, freckles and uneven pigmentation can develop following cumulative UV exposure.
BBL® HEROic™ can be used to target unwanted pigmentation and areas of visible sun damage. Where pigmentation occurs alongside changes in texture or more established photodamage, another technology such as MOXI® or HALO® TRIBRID™ may also be considered.
Redness and Visible Vessels
Redness can present as generalised flushing, small superficial vessels or more defined veins, and these concerns do not necessarily require the same treatment.
BBL® HEROic™ can be useful for diffuse redness and superficial vascular concerns, while ClearV® may be selected when specific visible or deeper vessels need to be targeted. ClearSilk® provides another option where diffuse redness forms part of a wider skin-quality concern.
Uneven Skin Texture
Roughness and uneven texture can occur alongside pigmentation, enlarged pores, lines or previous acne scarring.
MOXI® can provide gentle fractional treatment where a lighter approach is appropriate, while HALO® TRIBRID™ offers greater flexibility across different treatment depths when more established textural change or resurfacing is required.
Fine and Deeper Lines
Lines can develop alongside changes in texture, pigmentation and overall skin quality.
The appropriate laser approach depends on how established these changes are. A gentler technology may be appropriate for earlier changes, while HALO® TRIBRID™ provides the flexibility to treat at different depths and incorporate an ablative wavelength where more intensive resurfacing is appropriate.
Enlarged Pores
Enlarged-looking pores are often part of a broader change in skin texture rather than an isolated concern.
Fractional technologies such as MOXI® and HALO® TRIBRID™ can be considered according to the degree of textural change, while accompanying pigmentation or redness can be addressed with another technology where appropriate.
Acne Scarring
Acne scarring can affect the skin at different depths and may occur alongside redness, pigmentation and enlarged pores.
The type and severity of scarring will determine the most appropriate approach. HALO® TRIBRID™ may be considered for selected acne scars where fractional resurfacing at different depths is required, while other technologies may be incorporated to address accompanying colour or skin-quality concerns.
Dull and Uneven Skin
Not everyone needs intensive laser resurfacing. For patients primarily concerned about dullness, early textural changes or general skin quality, a gentler treatment such as ClearSilk® or MOXI® may be more appropriate.
The aim is to select the level of treatment your skin needs rather than automatically recommending the strongest available technology.

Bespoke Laser Treatment Aftercare
What to Avoid
- Sun exposure – Laser and light treatments can make the skin more sensitive to UV exposure. The specific sun precautions required will depend on the technologies used.
- Active skincare – You may need to temporarily stop retinoids, exfoliating acids and other active skincare before or after certain treatments.
- Heat and exercise – Depending on your treatment, you may be advised to temporarily avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms and excessive heat.
- Picking or rubbing – Where treatment causes bronzing, dryness or flaking, allow the skin to recover naturally rather than picking or exfoliating it.
- Additional treatments – Follow the personalised advice provided by your practitioner regarding other skin treatments before and after your laser appointment.
Comfort and Recovery Tips
- Follow your treatment plan – Aftercare varies considerably between a no-downtime laser facial and more intensive resurfacing, so follow the advice given for your specific combination.
- Gentle skincare – Keep skincare simple and gentle while your skin recovers.
- Sun protection – Broad-spectrum SPF and sensible sun avoidance are important following laser and light treatments.
- Allow results to develop – Some changes in colour may become apparent relatively quickly, while improvements associated with skin renewal and collagen remodelling can continue to develop over the following weeks and months.
- Plan around downtime – If a more intensive treatment is recommended, we will discuss the expected recovery period so treatment can be planned around work, social commitments or important events.
What Our Patients Say
General reviews of our clinic and team, from Google
I cannot recommend this clinic highly enough. Dr Ed was professional, knowledgeable and a step above other aesthetics practitioners I have encountered.
He was incredibly thorough during the initial assessment and took the time to discuss a range of treatments that would be suitable for me. What particularly impressed me was his honesty about treatments that he felt wouldn’t be appropriate or beneficial. He takes a genuinely individualised approach rather than offering a one size fits all treatment plan.
I was extremely pleased with my results. Dr Ed has a focus on achieving subtle, natural-looking results, which was exactly what I wanted.
The clinic itself is stunning, and all of the staff were warm, friendly and welcoming. From the initial consultation through to the treatment itself felt professional. I wouldn’t hesitate to return and would highly recommend Dr Ed and the clinic to anyone considering aesthetic treatments.
Dr Ed and the team are exceptionally welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. The service is outstanding, with every treatment explained clearly and thoroughly, ensuring you feel confident and well looked after. The clinic itself is beautifully designed and feels more like a spa, creating an instantly calming atmosphere from the moment you walk in.
I visited the clinic recently and from the moment I arrived I felt really comfortable. Ed and all the staff were extremely helpful. I went in for a consultation to discuss my concerns and agreed on a treatment plan that I was really happy with. Will be returning here for all future treatments. I have been looking for a new clinic I can trust for a while and I’m glad I found this one.
FAQs
For more general enquiries, please take a look at some of our frequently asked questions.
How do I know which laser treatment I need?
You do not need to choose a particular laser before booking your consultation.
We assess your skin, the concerns you would like to address, your skin characteristics and your tolerance for downtime before recommending the most appropriate technology or combination.
Why would I need more than one laser technology?
Different technologies perform different roles. For example, unwanted pigmentation and redness may require a different approach from rough texture, enlarged pores or acne scarring.
When several concerns are present together, combining technologies can allow each element to be treated more specifically rather than relying on one device to address everything.
Which laser technologies can be combined?
The combination depends entirely on your skin. At Dr Ed Robinson Clinics, treatment plans may incorporate technologies including BBL® HEROic™, MOXI®, HALO® TRIBRID™, ClearV® and ClearSilk® where appropriate.
Not every patient needs combination treatment, and the technologies selected will be determined following assessment.
Is combination laser treatment always stronger?
No. Combining technologies does not necessarily mean making treatment more intensive.
The aim is to use the appropriate technology for each concern. For some patients this may involve a gentle, low-downtime approach, while others may benefit from more comprehensive resurfacing.
How much does a bespoke laser combination cost?
Pricing depends on the technologies recommended, the areas being treated and whether treatments are performed together or as part of a staged treatment plan.
Following your consultation, we will explain the recommended approach, expected downtime and associated costs so you know exactly what your treatment plan involves.
How much downtime will I need?
This depends on the technologies and treatment intensity selected.
Some treatments, such as ClearSilk®, are designed to have little to no downtime, while more intensive fractional resurfacing can require several days of visible recovery. We will discuss this before treatment so your plan can be tailored around your lifestyle and commitments.
