Dr Ed Robinson Aesthetics is now Dr Ed Robinson Clinics

The Dr Ed Robinson Clinics team outside the clinic in Hale

Dr Ed Robinson Aesthetics is now Dr Ed Robinson Clinics. We changed our name on 19 October 2026, and while there’s a new sign over the door, it’s the same doctor-led team, in the same place in Hale, Cheshire, offering the same careful approach to care. Here’s why, plus what this week’s new cosmetic safety proposals mean for you.

Why we’ve changed our name

When Dr Ed opened the clinic in 2022, most patients came for injectables. Now many of you come about your skin, hair loss, regenerative treatments or men’s health, including testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), and some of you never have an injectable at all.

“When I started the practice, the name reflected the treatments most patients came to us for. Today, our work is much broader. We see people with concerns about their skin, hair loss and men’s health, alongside those looking for subtle, natural-looking aesthetic treatments. Dr Ed Robinson Clinics more accurately reflects that care.”

Dr Ed Robinson, founder and Medical Director

“Aesthetics” also didn’t get across the medical assessment behind every treatment plan. “Clinics” does, and the plural fits because Ed sees patients in two places. As well as Hale, Dr Ed Robinson consults at 104 Harley Street, London, on a regular Friday schedule, offering injectable treatments.

Rated Good by the CQC

In a report published on 14 August 2026, the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the independent regulator of health and social care in England, rated us Good overall and in all five key questions, highlighting our leadership, culture and governance as particular strengths. More in our CQC post.

The new cosmetic safety proposals, explained

On 21 October 2026, the Department of Health and Social Care announced new restrictions on high-risk cosmetic procedures in England. They’re proposals for now, open to public consultation. Here’s what’s proposed:

  • Body fillers and liquid BBLs: fillers injected anywhere but the face, including liquid Brazilian butt lifts, would count as cosmetic surgery, so only doctors could do them.
  • Other high-risk treatments: deep chemical peels, vampire facials, dermal micro-coring and some laser procedures would be limited to doctors, dentists, and nurses, midwives and pharmacists who are qualified to prescribe.
  • Age limits: high-risk procedures would be for over 18s only, except NHS care or treatment of a medical condition.
  • Penalties: breaking the rules would be a criminal offence, with unlimited fines or fixed penalties of up to £4,000, enforced by the CQC.
  • Botox and fillers: the government remains committed to a separate licensing scheme so clinics offering Botox, lip fillers and other lower-risk treatments meet strict safety standards.
  • Timeline: the consultation closes at 11:59pm on 13 January 2027, with Parliament due to consider the plans in spring 2027.

What it means for you

Wherever you go, it’s worth asking who’ll treat you, what their qualifications are, and whether the clinic is CQC registered. With us, every treatment plan starts with a consultation and a proper medical assessment. We’re registered with the CQC and have been Save Face accredited since 2022.

“Whatever brings someone through our doors, the starting point is always the same: taking the time to understand their concerns, assessing them properly and having an honest conversation about their options. Treatment should only follow when it is appropriate for that individual.”

Your questions

Has the clinic changed hands?

No, only the name has changed. We’re the same company, and Ed is still our founder and Medical Director.

Do I need to rebook?

No. Your appointment stands, and you’ll find us in the same place, with the same team and the same phone number.

Is the team the same?

Yes. Dr Ed, Dr Philippa Brown, Kate and Amy are all still here.

What do the new licensing rules mean for me?

They’re still proposals, so nothing changes yet. If they go ahead, the riskiest procedures would be limited to qualified healthcare professionals, with a licensing scheme to follow for Botox and fillers. Either way, check who’s treating you.

Why do I still see the old name in places?

Some listings take a while to catch up. We’re also a finalist in two categories at the This is Manchester Awards 2026, entered under our previous name, with results due on 5 November 2026.

Say hello

“Our principles remain the same: careful assessment, appropriate treatment and a warm welcome. For our aesthetic patients, that means aiming for subtle, natural results that help them feel more confident in themselves.”
