What conditions can BBL® HEROic™ treat?
Acne
Forever Clear BBL® destroys acne-causing bacteria and reduces inflammation and redness, using a combination of blue, yellow and infrared light that can address acne on almost any part of the body – face, neck and back being the most common treatment areas. Effective for adults and teenagers.
Rosacea
Redness in the skin is common, often following warm temperatures, exercise or sun exposure. Occasionally, redness can persist and in some individuals redness and flushing can be present all the time, with an exaggerated response to external factors. Over time, this can worsen and sometimes result in visible broken blood vessels on the face, as well as swelling of the face and neck. This is referred to as Rosacea and sometimes co-exists with blemishes and oily skin on the face.
Pigmentation
One of the most common causes of this altered pigmentation is exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays from the sun. The UV rays can stimulate melanin production, leading to age spots/sunspots, tanning, or an uneven skin tone
Dyschromia
A change in colour of the skin caused by a loss or increase in pigmentation – affected skin looks patchy and either red or purple.
Erythema
Redness of skin caused by injury or another inflammation, often presenting as a rash. Caused by injured or inflamed blood capillaries.
Solar lentigines
A solar lentigo is more commonly known as an age spot or liver spot. Unlike freckles, solar lentigines tend to form after the age of 30 and are sun-induced lesions, typically appearing on areas exposed to natural light.
Unwanted hair
Treated with Forever BARE BBL®
Vascular skin lesions
Caused by ruptured blood vessels: telangiectasia, some birthmarks, port-wine stains, rosacea, cherry angiomas, spider veins, broken capillaries, dilated or broken blood vessels, visibly red capillaries located near the surface of the skin, facial bruising.

What to Avoid
Skincare products – Avoid scented lotions, soaps, exfoliants (e.g. Retin-A, glycolic/salicylic/alpha-hydroxy acids), acne creams, and gels.
Aggressive cleansing – Do not use loofahs or scrub your skin aggressively.
Extreme temperatures – Wash only with lukewarm water; avoid hot or cold water.
Shaving – Refrain from shaving the treated area.
Swimming & spas – Avoid pools and hot tubs with chlorine or multiple chemicals.
Heavy sweating – Postpone activities causing excessive perspiration.
Sun exposure – Avoid all sun exposure for at least 7 – 14 days and keep the area covered and apply a broad spectrum sunblock with SPF 30 or higher, reapplying every 2 hours
Comfort and Recovery Tips
Cooling – Apply a cold compress or ice pack within the first 12 hours if the treated area feels especially warm.
Redness & swelling – Mild redness, swelling, or a sunburn-like sensation is normal and may last from a few hours up to several days. Applying ice for the first 24 hours can help reduce swelling.
Soothe the skin – Vitamin E or Aloe Vera may be applied to calm the skin.
Pain relief – Discomfort is usually minimal, but if needed, you can take oral pain relievers like Extra Strength Tylenol or Advil.
FAQs
For more general enquiries, please take a look at some of our frequently asked questions.
Can I have BBL® HEROic™ on my body?
Yes. BBL® HEROic™ can be used on the face, neck, chest and hands. Bespoke treatments (to include, say, lower legs or forearms) can be discussed with your clinician at your consultation.
How many BBL® HEROic™ treatments will I need?
You will see results from a single BBL® HEROic™ treatment; however, the number of treatments will depend on the severity of your pigmentation. A typical patient requires two treatments.
How long does it take to see results?
This can vary, depending on the individual, on the area being treated, and on the settings used.
However, most patients see results in 2-4 weeks.
Initially, pigment in your skin is darkened, which is the preferable result clinically, and helps you know that you have had an optimal treatment. Then, over time, your body’s natural healing process will remove the pigmented cells and replace them with new cells. Your brown spots and red patches will be replaced by fresh, undamaged skin.
How much does BBL® HEROic™ cost?
The cost of BBL® HEROic™ treatments can vary, starting at £550. It’s best to contact Dr Ed Robinson Aesthetics directly for the most accurate pricing information and package deals.
How comfortable is a BBL® HEROic™ treatment?
BBL® HEROic™ treatments are no-downtime, comfortable procedures, and can provide both targeted treatments and ongoing skin maintenance. Each flash of BBL® HEROic™ light produces a feeling of warmth.
Most patients easily tolerate this feeling, without the need for anaesthetic numbing cream. Your practitioner will use BBL®s CoolComfort handpiece (which provides contact cooling to protect the epidermis), and will work quickly while BBL® HEROic™ light is emitted in flashes across the treatment area. You will wear safety goggles throughout this treatment.
Is BBL® HEROic™ suitable for men?
Absolutely, BBL® HEROic™ is suitable and effective for both men and women. It addresses universal skin concerns like aging, acne, and uneven skin tone.
